IF IT IS NOT CREDIT OR IDENTITY RELATED INFORMATION IT IS EXCLUDED.

Your credit report will NOT therefore hold the following information about you:

Your credit reports will not contain any information about any investments you may have, your savings accounts, your insurance policies, your race, your religion, your sexuality, any political beliefs, any employment history, your medical records, Council Tax payments or any criminal record.

All information held by the agencies is based on facts and the CRAs cannot give an opinion on any of the information that they hold about you.

The CRAs do not make any of the lending decisions and cannot influence them, as this can only be done by your lender, when your credit or loan application is processed.

Your credit file will never show whether a potential lender has refused or accepted a credit or loan application from you.

A lender can only request a credit check on an individual and not an address. Thus previous occupiers at your address cannot have an effect on your credit status. Similarly if you have a poor credit history it will not affect anyone else also living at your address.

CREDIT BLACKLIST - MYTH OR REALITY ?

It is important to note there really is no such thing as a Credit Blacklist.

This is a MYTH.

Lenders can only check your individual personal credit report to help them make a lending decision.

Who can access my Credit Report?

You must give permission before a search of your credit report can take place.

Normally you will give this permission to a potential lender when you apply to them for credit. No one else is allowed to access your credit report at a credit agency.
